Wanted to try out inking in Photoshop so i grabbed a post-it sketch and inked it. KANO gave me a few tips on how he does it. I'm still trying to get it figured out though. it looks really "clean". I'm not used to that at all.

IAN, DOES THIS MEAN...!!!
---I RECENTLY SAW YOUR FILM UNFAIR, GREAT WORK ON IT, ONE OF THE BEST IN A LONG TIME, GOOD DESIGN, NICE ANMATION... GOOD TO SEE YOU HAVE A BLOG, I WILL BE BACK 4 SURE...
Oh cool cherry. Hey, I can sign in on here with my google account, I didnt know that.
Care to share the tips?
I just got my ink on in photoshop too. Not that it improves my comics at all.
You're right about the clean though.
Yes, can you share the tips? :D
thanks for the comment,
and i thought you knew how to clean stuff up with photoshop, from seeing your past work, what did you use before? illustrator?
I just found your blog and holy shi- I thought you freakin' DIED or something! Are you ever gonna update RPGWorld or what?
Your art has really improved by the way.
thanks for the kind words guyses
art: no I only ever used pens to clean up my drawings. Recently I've been trying illustrator to vectorize my lines but that doesnt always work out perfectly.
andrew, star: the advice I got was to use one of the default brushes but turn the opacity down. that way when you sketch over a line you can go over it a few times to make it smooth. I also used the eraser tool to taper the lines at the end to get them that "clean" look. In the future I think I'll try using a thicker brush to get more line width variation because the inking on this is rather boring.
this is random but here is my friend code for the Wii, 8611 2992 8283 7145
i'm really curious to see the mii that jim been making especially since i dont really play my wii that much. Right now i'm all about DS.
Erm, Ian, was that Cherry? I don't know what they've been teaching you where you work, but your style has slipped a bit. It looks like she was drawn and inked by whoever does Kim Possible. On a side note, that's not a good thing.
Blackbeard: Thanks, but could you expand your criticism a bit? I know it's different than the old comic because I drew it... maybe I'm misunderstanding you?
your style has slipped from anime to not anime, please make it more japanise. i like japanise art beter.
Well, my criticism is, it's simply far less stylized than your original. This drawing looks very cartoony. That's not a bad thing in and of itself, but we see a lot of it every day, so it's less unique. Because that's how everyone animates, it seems mediocre, I know you can do better.
I disagree - the current trend seems to be for fat black outlines. I think this drawing is very unique. (and cute, for that matter)
